APPROPRIATE DRIVING SPEEDS

In this Driving Tutorial video Driving Instructor Francis gives an overview of Appropriate Speeds that you should learn in your driving lessons that you will need to know on your Driving Test. Francis also drives through real life sample situations along with commentary driving.

Factors that effect your appropriate driving speed are mainly:

  1. Visibility - how much can you see down the road?

  2. Pedestrians - are there pedestrians near the road?

  3. Weather - what are the current weather conditions?

  4. Road Width - how wide is the road? Remember, less space, less speed.

  5. Landmarks - are you near any schools, playgrounds or zebra crossings?

Remember, the Speed Limit is NOT a target speed, it's the absolute maximum speed IF the road conditions are perfect.
