Your First Lesson
Learning to drive can feel daunting — but it's actually great fun once you get started. Here's exactly what to expect when you step into the car with us.
A Calm & Relaxed Approach
We believe a calm and relaxed approach to driving lessons makes the whole learning process enjoyable and allows new skills to be absorbed more easily. Whether you're a complete beginner or returning after a break, we tailor every lesson to your individual needs.
If you already have some experience behind the wheel, we won't reteach skills you've already mastered — we'll assess where you are and pick up from there.
What Happens First?
Provisional Licence
We'll check your Provisional Licence is correct and within its expiry date before we begin.
Eyesight Check
You must be able to read a number plate from 20.5 metres. Bring prescribed glasses if needed.
Licence Check Code
Please provide your licence check code prior to your first lesson so we can verify your details.
Cockpit Drill (DSSSM)
We'll walk you through each control — its name, its use, and how it's operated — before setting off.
Moving Off & Stopping
We'll guide you through moving off and stopping safely. Full step-by-step support is provided on your first attempt.
Gradual Independence
As your confidence grows we reduce our level of instruction, helping you take more responsibility at your own pace.
